This morning I photographed my friend Michelle and her entire family!  I have known Michelle for about a year and half and it’s always a ton of fun watching our kids play together.  Here is a little sneak peek at this beautiful family.San Diego Photographer

I had the privilege of photographing the beautiful Lupo family this morning.  These kids were such a delight to work with!  Enjoy this little look into our great morning.

Shae, these are beautiful. I can’t wait to see the rest. You were SO good with the kids and I look forward to doing this again! Thank you!

My husband and I decided to take our twins out for a morning hike this past weekend to one of my all time favorite photo spots.  Since we have been having such beautiful mornings here in San Diego, it was a perfect time to get some updated photos of our children.  It’s always so hard to get the two of them to sit next to each other, but they cooperated beautifully for me.

I am so excited to introduce you to this little girl.  Even though this little miss decided not to sleep, we still got some pretty cute shots.  I think my favorite thing about her is that I get to come see her anytime I want and then give her back when she starts crying!  This week I’ll wander back over there and get some more shots.  In the mean time, enjoy this shot of a wonderful little ladybug.

I don’t think there are words to describe how excited I am about this beautiful Mamma and her little Lady Bug.  I have known the daddy since I was in high school!  He used to live in the same dorms as my then boyfriend, now husband.  They quickly became best friends and have been inseparable since then.  A few years ago he met an incredible woman who quickly became my good friend.  I have been waiting since November, when they first told us they were expecting, to take these photos.  Enjoy this little preview of your shoot!  I can’t wait to do her newborn photos in just a few weeks.

Today I had the privilege of taking photos for an old friend from high school.  She has a precious little 5 month old who is just as happy as can be, and two beautiful nieces.  We ended up having to move everything inside because of the rain, but they were all such troopers!  Enjoy your little peek at what’s to come!

Thanks again Shae. You did a great job of putting up with our craziness :) Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures.

When I think back to my childhood and the way I was raised, my memories always include  the “canyon kids.”  I grew up on a small ranch in the middle of nowhere that was located up a four mile dirt road.  Along this road is several other families and ranches.  Growing up there was such a unique experience.  There was about a dozen kids all within a couple years of each other and we were all best friends.  During the hot summers we would all hang out in each others pools and explore the many trails that went through the bottom of the canyon.  When other kids were out riding bikes, we were all riding dirt bikes and 4-wheelers.  When other kids were playing with toys, we were out shooting guns.  When other kids were having slumber parties, we were sleeping under the stars in the middle of a field.  Our parents never had to worry where we were and who we were with.  There were very few fences in the canyon, and the fields that did have them, had gates that were never locked.  It truly was an amazing experience.  It just so happens that one of the “canyon kids” won the giveaway.  Laurye and I always had so much fun together.  When we used to play together, it was like we were in our own little world.  It was so much fun being able to photograph her beautiful family back at our old stompin’ grounds.  Here is a little peek at this wonderful family.

What you get: 1-2 hours with me and my camera, a CD with all the images, and an 8×10 of your choice. I specialize in children’s and family portraits, but can do engagements, best friends, siblings, pets, etc.  Pretty much anything except weddings.

And just because a post can’t be without a photo, here is my boy.

We’re moving into the empty nest stage of our family and I thought next year sometime it would be good to get a photo of the two of us. We could come to you. We’re down in the SLO/Paso area to visit relatives probably 3 x per year. I love your photos!

Hi Shea,
I just wanted to say you do great work! My favorite colors are green and grey. I love B&W too. We have never had a family photo done. It’s always been of just the boys. I actually don’t really have one of just the three of them, except for the one with Santa! Win or not I will be contacting you to do a family session.

My favorite color is RED! I would love to have a family portrait done of my husband son and I! Thank you!

Has it really been 6 weeks already?  My image for this week is actually that of a camera.  This is an old Kodak Vest Pocket camera that belonged to my grandfather.  I have no idea if this was used by him, or if he bought it as a collectors item.  I always wonder what this camera has seen.  When it was first sold, Kodak advertised it as a “Soldier’s Camera” during WWI.  I wonder if this camera was ever used to capture the memories of war?  Another cool thing about this camera was the “autographic” ability.  It came with a stylus and you could open a little window on the back of the camera and write directly onto the film.  My camera, unfortunately, is missing the stylus, but you can see where someone wrote on it.  it almost looks like it said “Mammoth,” or something similar.  Maybe someday I will be able to find some 127 film and try it out.  If you want to see the other ones that I took, you can check them out here.

This camera was originally your great-grandfathers (Poppa Salley). He traveled the world in his youth, going to sea at 12. He served in both WWI and WWII as well as several politically sensitive countries, perhaps this little camera was with him in China, The Philippines, or on the seas. Look in his campaign box, maybe the stylus is in it, if not it will contain a bit of this camera’s historic travels.
