Every once in awhile I will put a photo up on the I Heart Faces website for fun.  The week their challenge focuses on boys, so who better to show off than my little prince!  I actually intended this one to be for my Etsy shop, but he loved this crown and cape so much that it’s now his.  There are times when we go out to the store and both my son and daughter want to wear their crowns and I love all the mixed looks we get.

Last time I did a Death Valley post it focused on the little mini shoot we did.  This time I’m focusing on some of the photos I did that don’t have people in them.  Since I have been there about a million times, I feel like I have photos of almost everything already, so this trip I didn’t take as many as I normally do.

On the way to Death Valley we drive through a little town called Trona and it always smells like rotten eggs.  It is one of those places you don’t really want to stop and get out of the car, but I needed a picture.

We went to Inyo mine and hiked around for awhile.  The kids had a great time but kept slipping on all the gravel so they decided it would be a better idea to play with their toys.  While they were doing that I was able to sneak off and snap a few frames.

One of the days we were there we went over to Rhyolite to explore.  This is one of those places that I have photographed countless times so this year I decided to shoot it with my lensbaby and a borrowed wide angle lens from a photographer friend who was with us.  It was fun redoing a lot of the photos I had taken in the years past and giving them slightly different looks.

On the last evening, My friend and I took the kiddos out to Badwater to explore the saltflats.  The kiddos didn’t really know what to think about it.  I thought it was great.

Sometimes people come along in this world that make you remember that there really are true, genuine friends still out there.  Miranda is one of those people.  I met her through the playgroup I’m involved with and you can’t help but like her.  She has a sweet little girl and as I type this, she is in the hospital welcoming her new son!!  I truly can’t wait to meet this new little guy.  I know he will be a perfect addition to their family and a wonderful new playmate for his sister. This year I took my kiddos to the annual Fairy Festival that is held at Summer’s Past Farm.  We had a ton of fun and I was even able to get a few photos of my little fairies.  I was also able to show of my new line of mad hats and crowns.  Jack didn’t want to wear his cape, but he still looked adorable.
